What happens when you have identified as something for so long, but then something happens and your not so sure any more?

Reason for questioning: I have been on the verge of re-identifying myself as Asexual until last week ( tuesday to be exact). I want through a phase where I had no interest in anyone what-so-ever. Male. Female. Male-2-Female. Female-2-Male. I. Was. NOT. Interested. Now I am an excellent actor. No one even realized my waning interest in people as a general whole. What brings this to the surface? As of last tuesday I am re-affirmed. I met someone who I find genuinely attractive. Which is seriously something I don't feel much these days. (Things to ponder: Is it me or is it them?) I found it really quite hurtful that when I told him I was genuinely attracted to him his initial response was, and I quote "Ah, okay. So you're legit attracted to me and it's not some desperate attempt to be able to claim attraction to something." This almost renewed my interest in being not interested in anything. I still find him very, very attractive, but it is hard to see how the human race assumes that until you are of a certain age you cannot have legitimate feelings for someone else, it is just a "Desperate attempt to be able to claim attraction to something," but I digress.

I'm not angry. In fact since that particular sentence and his new found knowledge that I am capable of actual mature emotion we are having renewed intellectual conversation, something that I have found appealing about him since the moment I met him.

I think it's kind of funny, I have gone through almost as much in my one year here in NY as I did in any three year period back in WY. Very interesting. Well that is my rant. TTYL!
